In its most famous version, here’s that memorable Bobby Troup celebration of auto travel westward along “The Main Street Of America.” Cole would newly record “Route 66” in both the 1950s and early ‘60s, but this is the original hit. Also here in the 1946 collection is the trio’s first release of “The Christmas Song.”
