NOTORIOUS: Greek Island
NEAREST AIRPORT: Direct into Santorini
COORDINATES: 36.4200° N, 25.4317° E
CURRENCY: Euro

This island of Santorini (or Thira) is the result of one of the biggest volcanic eruptions in history. With a marriage of Venetian and Cycladic architecture, the town of Fira is built directly into the volcanic cliff. The famous blue and white of this place reminds me of my mother’s kitchen china. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for this color combination as a result.

All the blogs are saying it’s important not to get stuck in Fira and to travel the whole area of the island, so rent a car. The desert climate is perfect for wineries and sunsets – make sure you stake out some epic eats. Sounds like an amazing place to vacation if you’re based in Europe or the Middle East – apparently a lot of cruises stop here as well (duly noted).

in China’s Hunan Province, the site is dominated by
more than 3,000 narrow sandstone pillars and peaks, many
over 200 m high. Between the peaks lie ravines and gorges
with streams, pools annd waterfalls, some 40 caves, and two large natural bridges.
In additin to the striking beauty of the landscape, the region is also noted
