The Auer String Quartet is based in Sydney and specialises in providing high quality wedding ceremony music that is customised to suit the requests of clients. Formed in 2006 by Tamara Auer, a graduate of the Milan Conservatory, the group of two, three or four performers is made up of tertiary music graduates from the Sydney Conservatorium, the University of NSW, ANU, and the Milan Conservatory, Italy.
Available as a quartet (trio plus additional violin), trio (violin, viola and cello), or duo (violin and cello), the group provides suitable music for all types of indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies.
Many couples like the traditional sound and elegance of a string quartet for their wedding music but also like the idea of having the quartet play arrangements of popular music. Aside from having a large classical repertoire, the Auer String Quartet has worked on arrangements for a vast number of popular songs inspired by groups such as the Vitiman String Quartet and Stringspace String Quartet.
The Auer String Quartet is available to travel all over Sydney, including outer areas, such as the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Bowral and South Coast. Previous engagements have taken the string group to many reputable venues across greater Sydney, including the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney University, Q Station Manly, HMAS Watson, Vaucluse House, Le Montage, The Mint Sydney, Darling Park, Dunbar House Watsons Bay, Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens, Cupitt’s Winery, Killara Golf Club, Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College, Saint Ignatius' College Riverview, Curzon Hall, Hillsong Chapel Baulkham Hills, St Marys Orthodox Church Mays Hill, St Brigids Church Marrickville, Blues Point Reserve, Observatory Hill, Elkington Park Balmain, Dunningham Reserve Coogee.
