“'Mara Beboos' is a generational song—one passed down through the voices of our parents and grandparents, etched into our memories over time."

"I originally recorded it for my mom. One evening while we were cooking together, she asked if I could sing and record the song so she could listen to it whenever she missed hearing it. Since doing straight covers has never really appealed to me, I decided to reinterpret it in French—a language close to my heart. I wrote and recorded the new version with just my guitar in my home studio, filmed it, posted it, and sent it to my mom. To my surprise, within just a few hours, the video went viral."

About Navan:
Ali Amini, known artistically as Navan, was born on February 20, 1997, in Tehran. His creative journey began after immigrating to Canada in 2010, where he settled in Montreal and discovered his passion for performance. By age 12, he was already playing lead roles in musical theatre, laying the foundation for his future in storytelling and music.

In 2012, Navan moved to Toronto, embracing the city’s rich musical landscape and continuing his artistic development. Drawing from his Iranian heritage and Western influences, he cultivated a unique, genre-blending sound that merges the emotional depth of Iranian music with the vibrant energy of pop and R&B.

Inspired by global icons like Enrique Iglesias, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Harry Styles, Navan is driven by a mission to bridge cultures through his trilingual artistry.

Navan made his professional debut in 2020 with a French-Persian pop single, signaling his commitment to global storytelling. His career quickly gained momentum with notable collaborations, including Grammy winner Drew Jurecka, Grammy-nominated producer Ron Israeli, and acclaimed Canadian-Iranian composer Babak Amini.

A major highlight came when he shared the stage with Iranian legend Ebi at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, performing for over 15,000 fans.

In 2024, Navan released his debut album Mesle Ghabl, a psychedelic pop exploration of love, celebrated with sold-out shows in Toronto and exclusive performances in Washington D.C., including one for Prince Reza Pahlavi of Iran.
